The Université de Montréal’s Department of Neurosciences presents the second edition of the Spinelli Public Lectures on Parkinson’s Disease. This bilingual event will take place at Pavilion A of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) — in French on November 24 and in English on December 1.
Evening Program
Dopaminergic Infusion Therapies: The CHUM Experience
The André-Barbeau Movement Disorders Unit at the CHUM and Université de Montréal is among Canada’s most active centers in administering levodopa infusion therapy. A pioneer in the field, the CHUM took part in the first Canadian studies on intrajejunal therapy in 2010. Since the introduction of subcutaneous infusion therapy in August 2024, the team has treated 81 patients via intrajejunal infusion and 33 via subcutaneous infusion.
This conference will outline who can benefit from these treatments, describe the techniques involved, and share the results obtained with both infusion approaches.
Speakers:

Dr. Nicolas Jodoin, MD, FRCPC
Neurologist, Movement Disorders Specialist, CHUM
Benoît Gagnon
Nurse Specialist in Dopaminergic Infusion Therapy,
André-Barbeau Movement Disorders Unit, CHUM
“Omic” Horizons: The Search for Parkinson’s Disease Biomarkers
Through new integrative approaches, scientists are revolutionizing the understanding and treatment of Parkinson’s disease. By combining various biological data, researchers can better predict disease progression, identify biomarkers, and propose more targeted treatments — a major step toward truly personalized medicine.
